RULES & TERMS

  • Films must be written, filmed, edited, finished, and turned in within the designated 48 hours of the challenge.

  • Submitted films must be 6 minutes or less (including any title cards, opening and closing credits).

  • Every film must include the required line of dialog and prop which will be assigned at the kickoff.

  • Each team will be assigned a genre. You may expand the boundaries of your genre, however, the genre you pick must be recognizably in the film.

  • There are no limitations to team size, but each team can only submit one film.

  • Any type of video, film or phone camera may be used and the number of cameras is not limited.

  • No nudity or excessive profanity in the films. Some swearing is not a problem, but use it sparingly and tastefully. This also applies to violence and all other universally controversial topics.

  • Stock footage may be used, but must be mentioned in the credits.

  • Any films received after the drop-off be screened, presuming they do not violate any of the submission criteria.  However, only those films submitted prior to or at the deadline will be eligible for winning prizes.

DELIVERY SPECIFICATIONS

The preferred file type is MP4, with MOV being acceptable as an alternate. Please avoid other formats if possible.

Ideally you will deliver your file in 24fps. You won’t be disqualified for your choice of frame rate, but you’ll be giving us more work to do.

You can use whatever aspect ratio you want to present your film. But please do not add “baked in” black bars or letterboxing. This is unnecessary and will again add more work for us to remove them.

All films should be delivered on a flash drive or any small hard drive which will be returned at the screening.

AWARDS & PRIZES

An elite judging panel will watch and review and vote on each film. At the conclusion of the screenings on March 27, the Top 3 films will come forward for a Q&A with the audience. Awards will be revealed following the Q&A.

The winning film will receive $100 in cold, hard U.S. cash money plus an honorary showing at the Lynchburg Film Festival on October 25, 2025. Additional prizes for the winning film and both runners-up include gift certificates from Super Rad Arcade Bar and more TBA!
