The Lynchburg Film Festival (LYHFF) is an annual celebration of independent cinema, held in the beautifully restored Historic Theater at the Academy Center of the Arts in downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. Featuring a dynamic selection of narrative, documentary, and experimental films from around the globe, the festival also highlights local voices with work from Lynchburg-area filmmakers. More than just a screening event, LYHFF serves as a creative hub—bringing filmmakers together to connect, collaborate, and spark conversation. The festival is proudly presented in partnership with the James River Arts Council. Our next festival is scheduled for October 24-26, 2025.
